The beaches of Sant Martí d’ Empúries

THE BEACHES OF SANT MARTÍ D’ EMPÚRIES

Sant Martí d ‘Empúries is a neighborhood of the L’ Escala with long history that is preserved as medieval town. In this neighborhood we find well-known beaches of the Costa Brava. Here I highlight the two where we usually swim and walk; The beach “Les Muscleres” and the beach “Moll Grec”.

To have lunch we usually go to the restaurant ‘L’Esculapi: http://www.esculapi.com/

But there is also a picnic area very close to the beaches.

BEACH “LES MUSCLERES” IN SANT MARTÍ D’ EMPÚRIES

Costa Brava, l’Escala- Sant Martí d’ Empúries.

Beach with fine sand in front of the ruins of Empúries. Typical landscape of the Costa Brava, with lovely and very good quality water and an area of pines very close to the beach.

With rocky areas forming small coves and at the same time the feeling of having the open sea very close.

It is an ideal area to snorkel, with ancient remains on the seabed, both Greek and Roman.

Services: life guards, showers, car park (not free), beach bar, etc…

MOLL GREC

Costa Brava, l’Escala- Sant Martí d’ Empúries.

One of the other beaches of Sant Martí d ‘Empúries, also with fine sand.

It has part of the hellenic dock from the ancient Greek and Roman Empúries city and was the entrance point for civilizations Greece and Roman in the Iberian peninsula.

The beaches are connected with a walkway for pedestrians and cyclists surrounded by greenery. This walway also connects Sant Martí d’ Empúrires with l’ Escala.
